It’s about time these companies were punished. They’re absolutely disgusting, the lot of them.

Restore security and sovereignty by restoring energy, utilities and transport to public ownership.

I’ve made the first step by ditching the big companies. I’ve moved my account to Co-operative energy, the first step to bring excessive profits back to members.

We need government-run, not-for-profit energy supplies.

The energy industry is a public service and should be run as such, not for profit.

Utilities (power and water etc.) should be owned by the taxpayers who, after all, are subsidising private companies.

Our privatised utilities are a joke. The very nature of this fragmented system has the effect of pushing up costs and the evidence of anti-competitive pricing is obvious.

The reason we are annually held to ransom is to feed the grotesque profits of organisations that were taken away from us. They were ours, give them back.

Play fair.

Privatisation has not worked for the majority of people.

All energy companies should be re-nationalised and green energy supported.

It should never have been privatised in the first place.

Bring back British Rail and the water, gas and electricity.

Re-nationalise and invest profits instead of paying out to shareholders.

This petition should highlight the need for more social responsibility to be shown by this selfish and one-eyed government.

Water and energy should be non-profit-making.

The ridiculous greed of all energy companies and their suppliers must stop. We must also find ways of reducing our reliance on fossil fuels without it costing the earth.

These industries should never have been privatised in the first place.

I have three kids and cannot afford to heat the house for them. It’s ridiculous that these power companies think it’s acceptable to charge the amount they do.

A publicly owned energy provider will show up the lie that competition has been good for consumers, just as East Coast has on the railways.

It’s time for action. People need heat and light to survive.

We are being ripped off, have been for ages and we need to put it right once and for all.

obviously privatisation has been a disaster. All the evidence is there. Thatcher was wrong. We need a proper left wing spokesman to highlight this.

Nationalisation is for the benefit of the vast majority of the British people.

It should not have been sold off in the first place. It only lined the pockets of Tories’ friends and masters.

Profiteering on this scale should be illegal. It’s the unacceptable face of capitalism and must be stopped.

Re-nationalise now.

Renationalise the energy utilities please.

They should never have been split up.

Our natural resources should never have been privatised in the first place.
