these are necessities not luxuries, so the price needs to be reasonable
Allowing vital national infrastructure like this to be monopolised by a small number of multinational corporations is just madness. It always was.
All utilities should be publicly owned and run for the benefit of the public not shareholders, with profits ploughed back in for everyone’s benefit.
All utilities should be under state control, in order to control prices and ensure supply whilst cutting out fat cat profiteering.
This issue is far too important to be left to multinationals who put profit before people and don’t care about driving customers into poverty and despair.
