Join the new national movement to #takebackwater 💧✊💧 It’s time to turn the tide on 40 years of privatisation and failure.
💧💧 We're building a movement to Take Back Water.
On July 5th we’re giving the new government 100 days to commit to public ownership.
↪ If the government refuses to act, we’ll launch the first wave of financial disobedience from Oct 14th, targeting the water industry by withholding our payments for 90 days.
↪ We’ll launch bigger and longer waves of financial disobedience for as long as it takes whilst building our collective power in every community.
↪ This is a low risk action and we need to take it collectively. Before we strike, we’ll help you join a “strike circle” – a group of at least 5 people striking in your region – so you can support each other.
↪ We know that public ownership has a popular mandate therefore through our actions we will make the government respond to this new political reality.
↪ We want to build large citizens assemblies across the country to discuss, debate, and participate in the creation of a new democratic plan for real public ownership of water as a service and not a commodity.
↪ But we know without a leverage we are powerless. Co-ordinated, mass financial disobedience is a way where we can make it clear to parasitical share holders and private equity companies that the days of privatised water are over. ... See MoreSee Less
