Nationalisation is essential for all public services which, because of their nature, do not have true competition. Energy nationalisation also provides forward planning.

Re-nationalised power could act as a flywheel for the economy. Nationalised power could provide jobs, training, economical energy for business and private individuals.

To be warm is a basic human right, like a roof over your head – and education and health care.

I think it is wrong that services that are virtually human rights are there for the purpose of making money.

I used to work in the power generation industry when it was privatised by the Tory government and we said then it would not work. How right we were.

Utilities should always be in the hands of the people that use them. For these companies it is like writing a blank cheque.

Good idea. As it would cost, why not set up a publicly owned company, cut the other’s prices and they will soon cease trading?
