If electricity supply can be run at a profit, that profit should go directly to improving the country not to shareholders. I would have thought that was obvious.

Clearly nothing fundamental to life should be owned for profit.

Enough is enough. Over 60% of the population didn’t vote for privatisation, so why should we have to be ripped off like this?

These energy companies are like a mafia, using the consumer as a cash cow. The Government doesn’t want to do anything to stop it because half the MPs are shareholders.

Something as essential as our energy should not be in private hands.

The attempt to create an artificial market in energy supply has demonstrably failed. It is broke so let’s fix it.

These industries should never have been privatised in the first place.

Put profits back into services, not into shareholder pockets.

Supporting social ideals with collective responsibility.

When I was a teenager I watched Thatcher’s privatisation of UK assets and knew it was bad for citizens and then labour betrayed us. Time to return to rightful owners.

We’ve had enough of prices so high and having to have a house that is cold.

Well done to our various governments of the last 30 years for screwing us all over and leaving themselves looked after. For shame, give us all a chance to live.

Energy should never have been privatised. We want it back.

The ridiculous greed of all energy companies and their suppliers must stop. We must also find ways of reducing our reliance on fossil fuels without it costing the earth.

It’s about time we stopped foreign countries buying into us and ripping out our roots.

This petition should highlight the need for more social responsibility to be shown by this selfish and one-eyed government.

We’re told we have fundamental human rights in this country but do they actually mean anything when people are freezing to death in their own homes?

The time is right to have our power back.

Give us back our freedom that our parents fought for and stop ripping us off.

It is just daylight robbery, but what is there to stop them? No-one wants to say too much with the election so close so we get just the same clap-trap.

All the main utilities should be under public ownership. Rich individuals should not be able to profit from them.

People dying due to profiteering and government indifference is nothing short of corporate manslaughter.

Re-nationalise now.

Everyone needs to stand together and join us in rolling back the control of market forces.

When a company is nationalised, any profits can come back to the people.

If we are all in this together then why aren’t the profits to shareholders falling?

Nothing good ever came from privatisation.
